Evaluaition

Over all, I am happy with the work that I have produced and believe that I have succeeded in what I was aiming to do for this assignment. I have had great pleasure editing images and doing the photo shoots for this assignment.

To improve my final images, I would spend more time on them; sorting out photo shoot lighting and specific models and clothing. The lighting for the clothing

Evaluation for second shoot

These are my favourite 4 images from my reshoot for fashion. I will choose the best image from these 4 and put it with two other fashion images to make my three-piece image.

This image has some great qualities; the lighting accentuates the boots, the lighting shades the bottom quarter of the image (just like I wanted it to), my pose is good, apart from I am not smiling as much i'd like to have been in this pose. If I was to use this as one of my final images, I would put a colour on the back ground. I think, because of the dull colour of the dress, the white background makes it even more dull so the coloured background will make the dress stand out more.

This is the best pose, as it is closest to being identical with the image I will have on the left and the lighting is good because everything is standing out. The only thing I would change about this image is the angle of my pose because you can't see the front of the dress very well. I believe that it is quite obviously what the front of the dress should look like anyway so I think I will use this image as one of my final images.

In this image, its difficult to see the footwear so that is a downside but I love my pose in this so its a shame. My aim for this shoot was to have a full-body portrait with me slightly turning right so it positions as if its a reflection with the image that will be on the left.

My pose in this is fine but it does not show off the dresses qualities the best that it is but the shoes are shown off nicely and you can see the dress well.

Contact sheet for one of my products

Editing my final 3 images

I am going to edit this image first, as its my over all favourite and I am going to use it as one of my final 3 images. But first, I am going to make my logo. I have decided to call my franchise AYUM BEAUTY.

Here is the logo I created in Photoshop. I opened a new paper and coloured the background this light brown and wrote the logo name on it and coloured the writing with a nice turquoise colour. Then I put the tint of the writing on the corners for a nice, slight pinhole effect. Now I am going to paste this onto the image.

I have softened the image and put an overlay onto it and then sharpened a few areas. Then, I pasted the logo onto the image. Now, I am going to paste the image of the lipstick onto the image too.

Here is the rough final image. I pasted the lipstick and my logo on the image and changed the opacity to make it blend with the softness of the image as a whole. I am very happy with this image but to make it better, I will turn the lipstick so that it was at a funny angle like my head is and like to logo is. as well as this, I think the lipstick would look much better and bolder if there was no opacity and it was just bold because this is what is being advertised so it should be fully visible. I will change this in Photoshop.

I am going to edit these three images now for my second final image.

This image is already cropped so it just needs lighting adjustments and editing and the background needs to be coloured.

This image needs to be cropped and the background needs to be coloured.

This image also needs the background colouring and just over all editing.

Then, all the images need to be put together as one image and the any final editing needs to be done. All then that is left to do is the add my logo and maybe a little line of writing.

So here is my second final image. I changed the brightness, contrast and saturation for all of these images because it wasn't bright enough in the studio. I also changed the colour of the second images footwear and the crop top. I put my logo at the top so i'm looking at it and I also put the logo on the trainers and took off the DG logo. I am very happy with this image, although I didn't colour the background, but I put a tinted line of pink along the bottom to give it some colour.

I am now going to edit this image for my third and final image.

I will edit the background a light blue and put spots onto his face with a thought balloon coming off him with image of the cream. First, I will need to edit the cream and then paste it onto the image of the balloon on the image. I decided not to put spots on him because its a bit difficult to do ans I can't quite get the hang of it.

This is my edited final third image. I am extremely happy with this image and to make it better, I would change the colour of a few things and edit the cream better.

Evaluation for first shoot

For my beauty shoot, I like the close ups of my face for the lipstick advertisement. It shows the lipstick clearly and shows what texture the lipstick is, whether it is; thick, thin/ runny, shiny, matt, or gooey.
This is my favourite image of this part of the shoot. Although all of these images look very professional, this one stands out in that category to me. I love the pose that I went for and I like the way that I tilted up my head and placed my hand on the side of my neck.

These are two of my other favourite images but they don't quite reach the 'favourite' spot. They are well photographed and could possibly be one of my final images. I also like the poses that I have done in these two shots. The lighting is nearly perfect but on the left, my face is slightly over exposed but that can be edited in Photoshop. I wouldn't change anything about these images or do anything different in the studio, apart from turn the lights down a little bit so it wasn't so exposed. I am over all very happy with these 3 images.

Also, for beauty, these images I took to advertise my make up range, I am happy with the way I arranged the layout of the products. It was slightly too exposed but that is editable. I like the lighting but I'd like the background to be a bit greyed so its not too loud. I am thinking of maybe even making it a matt, light, baby pink. Here are my images that I am most proud of or don't like but will change.

This is far too exposed and I tried to dim the lights in different places but it didn't turn out very well but I will see what i can do in Photoshop. I will do another shoot with this perfume and see if I can get it right.

The way I have laid out these products is quite good but it is going to be hard to edit off the original labels and put on my own. Also, I am going to need to get rid of the reflections because if you look closely, you can see things that the viewers shouldn't see.

This layout would be advertising the foundation and the nail polish's but with the addition of getting 5 rings for free with the purchase. But also with this image, I would need to get rid of the reflections that you can see on the nail polish bottles and also on the main big ring in the middle. I was thinking about advertising the jewellery on its own but it seems like the items are too small and singular so I decided to advertise it with some other products.

These next images are going to be for advertising my very own spot cream for beauty. The advertisement will be 2 images, side by side (a before and after). The first image will be of my spotty model looking up, like he's thinking of the cream. There will be a pop art bubble above him with the image of the cream in it. The second image will be him looking happy and spotless because he's used the cream. Here are the images I will edit.

I like everything about this image, apart from; he has NO spots. So in Photoshop, I will need to edit spots onto him.

Here, he looks nice and happy that he has no spots, so his face will not need editing at all, it can just stay clear like it is originally.

I am planning on doing the same thing with these images; having a pop art bubble with the image of my cream and a before and after. I don't quite like these images as much as the ones with my male model but it is possible that I will use them. I do really like the lighting in these images though. I would make it better by having a pink background. I will make sure that the image is cropped so that its just my shoulders and top of my chest that you can see. I'm doing this to represent purity because the spot cream will make you free of spots. Being naked is natural, empty, smooth.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For my Fashion shoot, these two are my favourite images from the shoot for this outfit and I would have my logo next to it, advertising my new clothing range.

I like my pose in this image and I like the way that I've positioned the lights but because my head is leaned back, the top- left of my face is a bit darker because its not getting as much light as the rest of my body is. I would adjust the lighting in Photoshop.

If I was to use this image, I would have my logo above my head (where I am looking). I think the lighting in this is good and I wouldn't change my positioning in this either.

For my second outfit shoot, I love these two images, they are my favourite. They look quite polished and efficient. All I'd do it adjust the lighting a bit in photoshop and crop it.

Both of these images are just as good as the other, I would make the image landscape and put my logo in the middle and to the side of me.

Evaluation

So, these are my 13 favourite images (just not including the perfume image) and 3 of these images (or maybe more if I put them together) will be my 3 final images. For now, I am going to edit some and pick my 3 final images because I'm not sure if i'll get a chance to do a re-shoot.

Research for Clothing, Jewellery and Beauty

Clothing
Jeremy Scott is known for his loud designs and collections. His work is so unique and stands out massively. Born in the USA, his ideas generated and his career kicked off in the 1990's when his work appeared in Paris Fashion Week. I am going to put together outfits I have designed based on his styling and ostentatious designs. I will put pieces together like; a pencil skirt and a baggy, stylish t-shirt with a loud-coloured belt to bring them both together and a jazzy, high pair of heels. I will then choose a design label name created by myself and create a logo. Here are examples of Scott's designs that I find inspiring and that I may want to interpret in my own way for this assignment.

I love this design by Scott because its got more than one type of pattern on it and it is loud- the way I like to design my clothes. If I were to do a dress shaped like this, I would add a black belt with it and some accessories on the writs and neck. This is a lovely design that I might mimic in my own way. The way Jeremy designs his clothes are with such enthusiasm and emphasis, which is how I want my designs to be made.

This design of his it a bit darker but it is still gaudy
and catches your eye and draws attention. I am
thinking of putting a black and white long top with
a colourful belt and white tights to advertise as my
own design. I wouldn't normally wear this design of
clothing but this piece has caught my eye and it's
mesmerising, maybe because of the black and white
 swirly patterns.

A black skirt and a long stylish top, just like this next design here, is   what I’m planning on doing and I really do like this piece that Scott      has created. His work is so bold and unique but it its own way, it’s  beautiful because it’s so quirky and idiosyncratic. There’s not much  of his work that is not peculiar but this piece in particular is quite normal but he has still made it his own and, in some way, eccentric.

Adidas is a german multinational corporation which is very successful and their designs are modern and popular, especially with the young people. They design and manufacture shoes, clothing, and accessories. Adidas also produces other products as well, such as; watches, eye-wear, bags, shirts and other sports- and clothing-related goods. Most of my work will be aimed at the younger generation so I will take ideas from adidas collections and apply it to my designs and my work. Some designs are below that I have taken inspiration from.

I am quite fond of this advertisement image. It's colourful and stands out. If I were to choose to advertise footwear, I think I would advertise it kind of like this; with the footwear looking as if it is walking up or down steps.
